Boomer's & Rachel

I have lived in Manhattan for the last 11 years in one of New York's most charming neighborhoods, Sutton Place, which is conveniently walking distance to my job as a private banker in Midtown. In my spare time you will likely find me spending time with my family, friends, and fur baby Boomer. If I am not doing that, I am likely in running in Central Park or exploring all of the good eats NYC has to offer.

Gathering Space

What's in your junk drawer?

The usual: index cards, pens, and highlighters. And the more unusual: birthday candles and light bulbs. I do my best to keep my junk drawer in check and organized but like the name implies sometimes things get a little out of hand. All of that said, I have managed to save more than a few birthdays so I guess I'm doing something right.

What trend took you a while to come around to?

Baggy jeans. Like most people I was reluctant at first but now it's hard to grasp the thought of putting on skinny jeans again - what were we thinking?

What's your current favorite hidden gem in the city?

Beekman Place, which is a small street on the east side of Manhattan that most people have not heard of or ventured to. It is a quaint area overlooking the water and a place I find myself returning to often. If you are ever in the area, you have to check it out.

What's the last song you listened to?

Latch by Disclosure (feat. Sam Smith). Never gets old.

What does design mean to you?

To me, design is an amalgamation of aesthetically pleasing and emotionally inspiring objects that create an environment that is memorable and energizing. It is something that I have always tried to center in my life as I think it has the potential to elevate so many aspects of the world we live in. I am always looking for ways to center design in my home and create spaces that I want to return to time and time again.
